I got this note from my solicitor today, (from their regular newsletter!) and I have to say that I am delighted this is coming into force. I am all for free will and all that, but piss off and smoke your lung lollies outside, I hate going home smelly like a cheap brothel!
Oh, in while you’re at it, try and give up you bunch of unfit bastards, and stop bleeding the NHS, fucked as that is, for all the money it mismanages!
Your kids will thank you!
The Final Drag
The Smoking, Health and Social Care (Scotland) Act 2005 comes into effect at 6am on 26th March 2005. This Act will have the effect of banning smoking in all enclosed public places. This includes all workplaces, licensed premises, private members clubs and premises used for the provision of education, health or care services. Owners and managers of businesses will have a duty to display ‘no smoking’ notices and take reasonable precautions to ensure that staff, customers, members and visitors are aware of the new law and do not smoke on the premises.
Fines of £200 are risked by owners/managers who fail in their duties under the new legislation. Defaulting may also be taken into account in decisions as to whether to renew liquor licences.
Individual defaulters will risk a £50 fine if they are caught by Environmental Health Officers.
See the link below for more information on how the ban will affect your business.
